Movie fans were in for a shock over the weekend when it was revealed that iconic Marvel star Chris Evans has gotten married! In an incredibly private and intimate ceremony, Evans said “I do” to his girlfriend of over a year, Portuguese actress Alba Baptista.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Evans and Baptista tied the knot on Saturday at their home in the Boston area. The couple didn’t hold back on security, ensuring complete privacy for their special day. Guests were required to sign NDAs and surrender their phones before attending the secret affair. Only Evans and Baptista’s closest family and friends witnessed the beautiful wedding ceremony.
Some famous faces managed to slip under the radar, including Evans’ Marvel co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner, who all attended to shower the happy couple with love and support. Representatives for Evans have not made any comment on the surprise nuptials so far.
Evans and Baptista were first rumored to be dating back in November 2021, after nearly a year of secretly getting to know one another. An insider close to the pair said their relationship had quickly turned “serious” and that Evans had “never been happier.”
Only a few months later in February 2022, fans finally got confirmation that the rumors were true when Evans went Instagram-official with a romantic Valentine’s Day post dedicated to his new leading lady.
Since then, Evans has been proudly showing off his affection for the talented Portuguese actress on social media.

While Evans has quickly become a favorite superhero of the Marvel Universe, Baptista is no stranger to success and acclaim herself. The 26-year-old speaks an impressive five languages and has won multiple awards for her sensational acting skills, including a prize for Best Actress.
Baptista has also scored major roles in hit films like ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ and the short thriller ‘Miami.’ IMDb even named her one of their breakout stars of 2020 – it’s easy to see why Evans was swept off his feet!
